EastWest Composer Cloud brings us subscription based access to high-quality instruments. 'A subscription plan like this is unprecedented in our industry,' said EastWest Producer Doug Rogers. 'In the past, composers with limited budgets could only purchase a new product periodically. Meet the EastWest Composer Cloud. At its heart, EastWest’s Composer Cloud is a subscription-based service wherein a new user, for a nominal fee paid monthly or annually (for a small discount), gains access to a vast library of sounds that EastWest and Soundsonline have been developing since 1988. The tag on their site reads: “9,000.
Hello -The answer to my question is most probably hidden deep within some manual somewhere. To be honest, I'm taking the easy way of posting my question here. (Yea, I can be lazy sometimes! LOL!)I JUST subscribed to East/West's Composer Cloud.
(At some point, I plan on upgrading to their 'pro' version if/when it becomes available.) As noted in my signature below, I have two happy computers that are networked together. My original hope in purchasing the subscription to Composer Cloud was to distribute the instruments between the two computers. I am able to do this with East/West's Hollywood Orchestra (complete). Well, it seems that I am not able to do this with the Composer Cloud subscription.
It seems that what is given is one general license for all of the instrumental libraries offered in the Composer Cloud thus prohibiting the choice of distributing instrumental set between two or three computers (to help keep CPU and memory usage down for larger templets). Is this true? Is the Composer Cloud subscription license (with all of VI libraries) only available for one computer at a time? If there is a way to distribute the many different libraries between two or more computers, how is it done? (I'm only seeing one license in my iLok.)By the way, it isn't necessarily a 'game changer' should the subscription be limited to one computer at a time. I might think twice about ordering the 'pro' version, though, simply because of the size and increased CPU/Memory/SSD usage of that version.
I would hope that distributing such a larger set of libraries be made possible with the 'pro' version of the composer cloud. The use of 'master/slave' computers is quite common when attempting to manage larger templets.Thank you for any information/clarification/instruction to my questions.Ted. The CC FAQ clearly says.' .if you already have an iLok2 security key you can choose to use that instead for portability.'

It is not clear (to me) whether or not you can change that after you have already installed the software.Personally, I am one of those who is still not convinced that the cloud is the best way to go. Call me a stubborn grouch if you must, but part of me says that we should really think longer and harder about our purchases and that it may be it better in the long run to get fewer sounds and more freedom, especially if there's a chance that as a buyer, there's a possibility that one day I may not be able to pay for all of these subscriptions in my life.Changes like this one will continue to catch people off-guard. Always read the contract terms. Always read the FAQ! Hello -The answer to my question is most probably hidden deep within some manual somewhere.

The use of 'master/slave' computers is quite common when attempting to manage larger templets.Thank you for any information/clarification/instruction to my questions.TedTed, you would have to use the iLok2 option to move between computers. Composer Cloud Plus is now available. I'd appreciate it if we could use Spaces independently from the main license, I do not care for using fx in VEP, I mix in my DAW. But EWCC being one single license for the entire thing makes it impossible. And yes, it would also be nice to split the hollywood series on multiple vep slaves.I think you misunderstand, you can use or not use any of the collections and software included, they are not glued together, it is the subscription plan that is wrapped up in one license, and yes it would be nice to customize for each user's requirements but the system is complex enough as is.
